¿Cómo leían (interpretaban) las mujeres del siglo XV unas novelas sentimentales escritas por hombres donde, al menos en apariencia, se perpetuaba una visión patriarcal y misógina? Partiendo del concepto de «resisting reader», la autora sostiene que estas mujeres lectoras asumían un papel activo que las llevaba a «manipular» y reinterpretar estos textos hasta darles su propio sentido
